In 2019, there was a 1.4 % increase in number of blood donors registered, resulting in 3.9% increase in number of units when compared to that of 2018.
From the potential blood donors pool (aged 17 to 69), there were 2.45% active blood donors which was similar to 2018.
Among the age group of blood donors, 20-29 years old was the most active which accounted for 36% of blood donors, and followed by 30-39 years old as 28%.
In 2019, female accounted for 51.5% of blood donors and male as 48.5%.
A total of 162 units of blood were donated from 122 RhD negative blood donors in 2019.
Since 2015, there is progressive increase in the percentage of blood units collected from mobile teams.
